A rapidly growing IT services business in the Balkan approached us because they were having very limited success after trying to use OKRs for a number of years. They needed our help in a bid to finally gain some positive outcomes from the framework.
Having not used an external subject matter expert in previous iterations, there were numerous “anti-behaviours” embedded within the teams that needed to be identified and reversed in order for this final attempt to have a chance of success. There was also a large and highly engaged leadership team that struggled to agree on priorities, and then follow through to delivery.
We helped them use OKRs in a way that enabled the organisation to create more substantial guard rails around the strategy process, building alignment and ensuring accountability from the leadership team down. Discussions around strategy were more clearly founded in a vision for the future and realistic objectives were also set for time-boxed periods with the accompanying metrics clearly demonstrating the achievement of their ambitious goals.
